The Respiratory Therapy department is a multidisciplinary team made up of several qualified, licensed therapists.  Duties of the respiratory team include medical gas therapy, aerosol therapy, hyperinflation therapy, blood gas sampling and analysis, pulmonary function testing, holter monitoring, EKG, EEG, participation on the code team, and assistance with newborn deliveries.   The respiratory care team is responsible for performing a number of vital functions to assure quality care is administered to the patients of DHCHD.  During the winter they treat patients with pneumonia and RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus).   During the spring, or allergy season, they treat asthma and other bronchial related illnesses.

 

The Director of the Respiratory Therapy is Misty Potter.  She is a Registered Respiratory Therapist who has been with DHCHD since 2003.  The Respiratory Therapy team also includes full time employees: Heather Brown RRT, Jamie Batenhorst RRT, Charles Adams RRT; one part time employee: Sylvia Hawley Guiterrez RRT; and PRN employees: Rob Fowler RRT, Heidi Galloway RRT, Michelle Gard CRT, Charlene Rivera RRT, and Lori Atha CRT.
